Friday 13th October – The adventure begans, as the crew boarded their Air New Zealand flight en route for NZ, where they settled in at the Scenic Hotel Bay of Islands.
Saturday 14th October – The crew hopped onboard the luxurious Grand Pacific Tours Ultimate Coach and headed for the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, the location of the treaty signing between the Maori tribes and the British – the birthplace of New Zealand. Then it was all aboard a luxury catamaran to Cape Brett and the famous Hole in the Rock for some dolphin watching after some lunch at Charlotte’s Kitchen before heading back to Russell to enjoy the waterfront with dinner at the Duke of Marlborough Hotel.
Sunday 15th October – Early morning on Sunday the team headed for the Salt Air Helipad for a stunning scenic flight over the Bay of Islands, then it was off to the Waipoua Kauri Forest, home of some of the largest tree species in NZ. Sunday night’s accommodation was thanks to SKYCITY Auckland.
Monday 16th October – While the crew were at SKYCITY, they were literally throwing themselves at the adrenalin-pumping SkyJump/SkyWalk! Following this, the Grand Pacific Tours coach transported the crew to Tauranga to enjoy some stunning views as they kayaked through the Waimarino Glowworm Caves, before settling in to the gorgeous Trinity Wharf Hotel and enjoying the magnificent harbour views.
Tuesday 17th October – In keeping with the adrenalin-pumping adventure of Monday, the team headed for Waihi to go on the Hauwaki Trail Bike Ride for a close up view of the lush views that NZ is famous for!
Wednesday 18th October – The crew headed for Rotorua, checking into the Sudima Hotel before heading to the Polynesian Spa for a deluxe private pool experience, so everyone was nice and refreshed ready for a big afternoon at the Hobbiton Movie Set!
Thursday 19th October – After the morning broadcast, the team departed for the Skyline Gondola for some luge rides, before heading to the Agrodome for a range of activities including the sheep show & farm tour, finishing the day at the Redwoods Nightlights for a guided tour.
Friday 20th October – The adventure continued, quite literally, with a trip to Adventure Park with no rides off limits – the team tackled the Swoop, the Agrojet, the Freefall Xtreme, the Schweeb and more! Then it was back onboard the Grand Pacific Tours coach to head to Te Puia for a traditional dinner & cultural experience.
Saturday 21st October – Reluctantly, the team packed their bags and headed to the airport for their Air New Zealand flights back to Australia.
