Your adventure begins on arrival at Hobart Airport for your flight to Sydney.  On arrival, transfer to your accommodation near the airport where the remainder of the day is at your leisure.

This morning board your direct flight to Norfolk Island.   Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel which will be home for the next 7 nights’.   Join the group for a welcome dinner this evening.  (D)

This morning you will be transferred down to Emily Bay, for the Dawn Anzac Day Service.   The Dawn Service on Norfolk Island holds a special significance as one of the first ANZAC Day commemorations observed each year in Australia, made possible by the island’s easterly position.  Taking place on the shores of Emily Bay at sunrise, the service unfolds in a moving and intimate setting.  As the sun rises over the lagoon, the soft sound of waves and the distant silhouette of Norfolk Island’s own Lone Pine combine to create a powerful space for quiet reflection.  It is a time to honour the sacrifices of servicemen and women, including the many Norfolk Islanders who have served in conflicts across generations.   

Return to your hotel for breakfast and for those who wish to, gather at the Officer’s Bath in Quality Row before commencing the march to the Cenotaph for the mid-morning service.  The rest of the day is free to relax and enjoy the facilities at your resort.  (BD)

This afternoon, head to the Bounty Musuem which offers a hands-on journey through the fascinating history of Norfolk Island.   Wander from room to room and uncover stories that span from Mutiny on the Bounty to the convict era and modern Island Life.   (B)

Start your day with a Champagne Breakfast at Emily Bay, enjoying a fully cooked meal right by the water with sweeping bay views (weather permitting). 

This afternoon, enjoy an exclusive visit with Charles and Kim Christian-Bailey at their 13-acre family homestead, originally settled by their ancestors. Step inside the historic 1877 home, explore George Bailey’s blacksmith forge—the oldest working forge in the Pacific—and ride in a restored 1928 Model A Ford truck, once the island’s first tour bus.  Discover Norfolk Island’s early industries, wander through heritage gardens, and finish with tea or coffee and the family’s famous guava porpeih jelly for a truly memorable end to the day.  (B)

Norfolk Island has a rich history shaped by four distinct periods of settlement. On this morning's tour, discover what life was like for the early Polynesian inhabitants, the hardships endured by convicts, and the arrival of the Pitcairn Islanders who went on to form today’s community. 

This afternoon, visit the Kingston and Arthur’s Vale Historic Area, part of the island’s two British settlements. Learn about the challenges faced by convicts and military personnel who arrived in 1788, just weeks after Australia was first settled. Hear how they survived on this remote outpost, and why the settlement was eventually abandoned only 26 years later.  Walk in the footsteps of those who lived and laboured here, and gain insight into why this extraordinary place became known as “Hell on Earth.”  (B)

This morning visit the Cyclorama, where a stunning 3D wraparound painting creates a remarkably realistic and immersive visual experience. Then discover the remarkable changes brought about by the establishment of Norfolk Island’s airport during World War II. Learn about its construction and gain insight into how the New Zealand Army lived, worked and spent their time on the island, as well as the opportunities it created for local residents.  Visit the site of the island’s radar station atop Mt Bates and explore the Lions Club photographic display, showcasing images from across different eras of Norfolk’s history. 

This evening, enjoy a special farewell dinner celebrating the island’s unique food culture. Discover traditional cooking methods from the Tahitian “ahima’a” earth ovens and follow how these influences were adapted by the Pitcairn Islanders. Along the way, learn about the island’s “zero food miles” lifestyle, where paddock-to-plate is truly a way of life.
