Overview
Lace up your hiking boots and set off on a four-day adventure on Queensland's Scenic Rim along stunning hiking trails. Watch the sunrise over Mt Mistake, hike along an old logging route once travelled by bullock and cart and spend nights surrounded by gum trees in your stunning wooden eco-cabin. Listen to the sounds of songbirds in the verdant rainforest as you rest near Dalrymple Creek, learn about the distinct flora and fauna of Main Range National Park from your expert guides, and stay in a comfortable eco-conscious homestead.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
START & END POINT LOCATION AND TIME
The trip starts with an early morning meeting on day 1 at our starting point hotel. Please read the daily itinerary and the joining point instructions carefully for more information. On the last day the trip finishes on arrival into Brisbane, usually between 6pm and 7pm. Our vehicle will do drop off stops at Brisbane's Roma Street train station and the Hotel Grand Chancellor Brisbane. Please consider this when arranging onward travel.
PHYSICAL RATING
This trip involves plenty of hiking over at times challenging terrain and is only suited to travellers with a good level of mobility and fitness. You must be able to complete all point-to-point walks as there is no support vehicle on this trip. The walks included on this trip range from Grade 3 on the Australian Walking Track Grading System (AWTGS) scale (some bushwalking experience required), up to Grade 5 (experienced bushwalkers. Tracks are likely to be very rough, steep, and unmarked). Good footwear, clothing for all types of Queensland weather, plus perhaps walking poles are recommended. More details on each day's hike can be found in the itinerary.
SINGLE TRAVELLERS
A single supplement is not available to be booked on this trip. Instead single travellers will share a twin room with another traveller of the same gender.
MINIMUM NUMBERS
This trip requires a minimum of two travellers to operate. A final decision on minimum numbers will be made 90 days prior to the departure date.
WEATHER & PACKING
The weather in this part of the world can be unpredictable, even in the dry season, so be sure to pack for all conditions! It is essential that you read the Packing List for this trip carefully as there are a number of items that are essential and you need to bring them to be allowed to embark on the trip. Proper hiking shoes/boots are a must due to the challenging terrain. It gets cold in winter and warm layers are needed!
DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
It is very important that you advise us of any dietary requirements and allergies at least 30 days prior to departure. We need this information well ahead of time to be able organise catering for the trip. The trail's remote location means that some food items will not be available on short notice, and once the trip has commenced changes to dietary requirements are not possible.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS
Please make sure you assess your own suitability for this trip by reading all the trip information carefully. It is important that you let us know of any medical conditions well ahead of time. As we operate in remote areas, you will need to bring all of your own personal medications on tour. Whilst our guides are qualified in remote area or wilderness first aid and carry satellite phones, we do not carry epi-pens, Ventolin or other emergency medications. If a person requires urgent medical attention whilst on tour, it may take several hours or more for emergency services to attend the scene and take you to a medical facility.
