    You’ll cross Switzerland with mountains rising ahead and lakes glinting far below. Beneath the Matterhorn, chalet balconies and stone paths line Zermatt’s car-free lanes, while grand hotels and gleaming shop windows add a touch of glamour in the Grison Alps. In Lucerne, a cable car carries you above pine-covered slopes towards Stanserhorn, where you may catch of glimpse of a marmot amongst the rocks. Your journey closes over dinner near the foot of the mountain, Lake Lucerne beyond the windows.
