    Some things to note

    Please note:

    • Pack light! Due to airline regulations on the internal flight, luggage allowance for the domestic flight is 15kg for checked luggage and 5kg for hand-luggage.
    • This tour is best suited for adventurous travellers who are in good physical condition, as it involves remote off-the-beaten-path destinations and higher altitudes. It's important to be prepared for unexpected changes to the itinerary, as this tour explores quite remote areas and the local conditions can play a big part. Additionally, please keep in mind that the standards and accommodations may not always match those to which you are accustomed as majority of this tour will be in Ger camps. To fully enjoy this journey, flexibility, a positive attitude and a willingness to embrace the adventure are essential.
    • This tour involves some long travel days by private vehicles, where conditions may be uneven and dusty. Be prepared for winding roads, many speedbumps and at times heavy traffic that will all affect travel times.
    • A coach will be used for travel within the city and surrounding areas. Once we depart the city, the group will split into 4WDs and travel in convoy until returning to Ulaanbaatar. Each 4WD will accommodate a maximum of three passengers.
    • Staying in a traditional Mongolian ger camp offers a unique blend of cultural immersion and modern comfort. Unlike traditional nomadic camping, these tourist camps include amenities such as electricity and ensuite bathrooms. However, Gers offer limited privacy and soundproofing. Power outages can occasionally occur despite backup generators, internet connectivity may be unreliable due to weather conditions and encounters with insects or small wildlife are common in the countryside. Ger bedding is generally configured as twin beds, regardless of whether a single or double occupancy request is made.
    • Western toilets are not common in this part of the world. Squat toilets are what you will come across majority of the time. Usually located outside of establishments, such as restaurants. There will also be some instances, on-route, where there are no facilities at all — meaning a ‘wilderness’ stop! There are no facilities on the vehicles.
