Welcome to Vietnam. On arrival at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in the heart of the city. Depending on your arrival time, you can check in, rest and freshen up after your journey.
Tonight, your time is your own. You might take a gentle stroll through the Old Quarter for a first taste of Hanoi, stopping for a coffee or a cold drink as you watch the street life go by.

Arrival airport transfers are included as part of your package. You will be met upon arrival at the airport and transferred to your hotel. If Inspiring Vacations has not provided your international airfares, please ensure you provide your flight details via your Traveller Hub portal no later than 90 days prior to travel so that your transfers can be confirmed. If you are arriving early and have made your own arrangements prior to your tour commencing, airport transfers will not be included. However, if you are purchasing pre-nights accommodation as part of your Inspiring Vacations package, airport transfers will still be provided to the starting hotel.
Standard hotel check-in is from 2pm. If you arrive earlier in the day, the hotel can hold your luggage until your room is ready.
After breakfast, meet with your local tour leader for a short introduction and overview of your journey and head out to discover Hanoi, Vietnam's historic capital. Your first stop is Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest Buddhist temple in the city, set on the shore of West Lake.
Continue to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first university, founded in the 11th century. Stroll through its courtyards and pavilions, taking in the atmosphere of traditional learning.
Later, sit down to a welcome lunch at a restaurant run as a social enterprise that trains and supports disadvantaged young people.
The rest of the day is yours to explore Hanoi at your own pace or to relax as you wish.

Day 3 - Hanoi [Bus] Halong Bay [Ship]
After breakfast, depart Hanoi for Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The drive passes through stretches of peaceful Vietnamese countryside.
At Halong, board your cruise and settle in as the ship makes its way towards Bai Tu Long Bay, a quieter and less-visited corner of the wider bay. In the afternoon, explore one of the hidden caves and enjoy time for swimming and kayaking in the calm waters.
Back on board, there is time to relax on the sundeck before a hands-on Vietnamese cooking class with the head chef. Dinner is served on board, and the evening is yours to enjoy at a gentle pace as the ship lies at anchor.

Day 4 - Halong [Bus] Hanoi
Begin the morning with an optional Tai Chi session on the sundeck as the ship glides through the quiet waters of Bai Tu Long Bay, followed by a light breakfast with views over the bay.
As the cruise continues, stop to visit a floating fishing village for a glimpse of traditional life on the water. Brunch is served on board before the ship returns to Halong, where your driver will be waiting to take you back to Hanoi.
On arrival in Hanoi, check in and freshen up. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 5 - Hanoi [Plane] Da Nang [Bus] Hoi An
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Da Nang. On arrival, a private transfer takes you on to Hoi An.
After lunch at a local restaurant, check in to your hotel. Later, set out to explore Hoi An's Ancient Town, known for its lantern-lit streets, and take part in a lantern-making workshop where you will create your own lantern to take home.
The evening is yours. The centre of Hoi An has plenty of local eateries and riverside dining to choose from.

Your internal flight for this day is arranged by our local partner. Specific flight details will be provided by your Tour Leader upon arrival and cannot be provided in advance. Please note that these group flights cannot be upgraded, amended, or checked in online. Your Tour Leader will manage the check-in process for the group.
Your included flight allows one checked bag up to 20kg (44 lbs), and one 7kg (15 lbs) carry-on, with options to increase your luggage allowance at the airport if needed. Your flight will be unescorted, however your tour guide will assist you on either end to ensure that your journey is trouble free.
On your departure from Hanoi you will say goodbye to your tour guide, and your group will be met by a local guide in Hoi An, who will meet and greet you, coordinate your activities in town and be reachable to assist you as needed. Local guides, frequently native to the area, lead tours at specific sites or attractions, offering a deeper understanding of the local history, art, or way of life.

You might wander the lantern-lined streets of the Ancient Town, browse its tailors and craft shops, or settle into a riverside cafe to watch the day go by. The town's beaches are a short trip away if you would prefer to relax by the water. The evening is at leisure.
Enjoy another free day in Hoi An. Hoi An rewards slow exploration. You could visit the old merchant houses and assembly halls of the Ancient Town, take a leisurely walk along the river, or simply enjoy the hotel and the nearby beaches. The evening is at leisure.

In the afternoon, travel north to Hue, Vietnam's former imperial capital and a UNESCO World Heritage city. The route crosses the Hai Van Pass, one of the country's most scenic coastal drives, with sweeping views over the sea and forested hills, and good opportunities to stop for photographs.
On arrival in Hue, check in to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

After breakfast, explore the Imperial City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk through the Citadel and its grounds, taking in highlights such as the Forbidden Purple City, the Thai Hoa Palace and the preserved ancient gates of the Nguyen Dynasty.
Continue to Thien Mu Pagoda, one of Hue's most recognisable landmarks, set on a hill above the Perfume River. Lunch is served at a garden restaurant in the local Hue style.
In the afternoon, see the city by cyclo, riding past the citadel and the local markets, a relaxed way to take in Hue. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon. The evening is at leisure.

Day 10 - Hue [Plane] Ho Chi Minh City
Enjoy a free morning in Hue after breakfast.
In the afternoon, fly to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival, transfer to your hotel to check in and settle in.
If time allows, head out to get a feel for Saigon, finding somewhere for a bite to eat or taking a walk through the lively streets of Vietnam's busy southern hub. The evening is at leisure.

After breakfast, travel to the Cu Chi Tunnels, an extensive underground network used by Vietnamese fighters during the war. Your guide explains how the tunnels were built, maintained and lived in, and points out the ingenuity behind their construction and concealment.

Day 12 - Ho Chi Minh City [Bus] Mekong Delta [Bus] Ho Chi Minh City
After breakfast, set off for the Mekong Delta, the fertile network of rivers, canals and villages often called the rice bowl of Vietnam.
Board a traditional wooden boat and cruise along the river, passing fishing boats, coconut groves and fruit gardens. Stop at Turtle Island, where you can visit a local family, sample seasonal fruit and tea, and listen to traditional southern folk music. A cycling trip around the island winds through shaded village paths lined with coconut trees and rice paddies.
Lunch is served at a local restaurant. In the late afternoon, return to Ho Chi Minh City, with the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 13 - Ho Chi Minh City
After breakfast, or depending on your flight time, you will be collected and transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
