Welcome to Norway. On arrival, make your own way to your hotel and settle in for the start of your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may wish to head out for a gentle introduction to the capital, perhaps with a walk along Karl Johans gate and the nearby waterfront.

Day 2 - Norway’s Northern Lights Explorer - VOS - Oslo to Bergen - Current
Today is free to enjoy Oslo at your own pace. You may like to visit Akershus Fortress, stroll along the waterfront, explore the Fram Museum or Kon-Tiki Museum, or spend time discovering the city's galleries and café scene. For a gentler day out, the harbour precinct and central shopping streets are easy to explore on foot. Alternatively, join a morning optional city tour.
Day 3 - Norway’s Northern Lights Explorer - VOS - Oslo to Bergen - Current
After breakfast, take a short walk from the hotel to the train station, conveniently located next door, to embark on the renowned Norway's Southern Fjords tour—Norway's most popular and eco-friendly travel experience. This journey offers a seamless exploration of the country's breathtaking fjords, mountains, valleys, and cities with a single, sustainable ticket.
Your adventure begins with a scenic train ride on the Bergen Railway from Oslo to Myrdal, showcasing a striking transition from the vibrant cityscape to the serene, high-altitude mountains. Upon arrival in Myrdal, transfer to the world-famous Flåm Railway, renowned for its spectacular views and steep descent through picturesque landscapes.
Upon reaching Flåm, check in to your hotel and enjoy leisure time to explore this charming village.

Your travel time today will be approximately 6 hours.
The itinerary between Oslo and Bergen is unguided. The route is Norway's most famous independent trip. The entire journey connects seamlessly and is well signed in English. Transport service times are made to connect together making the whole trip effortless.
To make the journey easier, your luggage will be transferred to Bergen ahead of you. Please make sure to take an overnight bag for your 2-night stay in Flam. Your luggage (max. 1 bag per person) must be given to the reception at your hotel (Thon Hotel Opera) by 6:30am. Luggage is picked up from reception and will be available from your hotel in Bergen on arrival.
Day 4 - Norway’s Northern Lights Explorer - VOS - Oslo to Bergen - Current
In the morning, you can choose to spend your time at leisure or participate in an optional guided snowshoe hike experience with a stop at the breathtaking Stegastein Viewpoint.
Later today, experience the fjords from a different perspective on an unforgettable RIB boat safari through Aurlandsfjord and parts of the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord. Travelling by small boat allows you to get close to tiny villages and waterfalls along the way, while your guide shares stories and historical insight into the region.
In the evening, enjoy Ægir's Viking Dinner at the Ægir Brewpub, featuring a five-course beer and food plank with local flavours.

Day 5 - Norway’s Northern Lights Explorer - VOS - Oslo to Bergen - Current
After breakfast you will transfer by shuttle bus to Gudvangen. Upon arrival to Gudvangen, you will have some free time, so if you wish you can also visit the Viking Village – an open-air museum, where you can travel back in time to the Viking age.
Later transfer by shuttle to Voss through snowy mountains and contrasted scenery.In Voss, you will embarkBergen Railway that will take you directly to Bergen Central Station.

Day 6 - Norway’s Northern Lights Explorer - VOS - Oslo to Bergen - Current
Today is yours to explore Bergen at your own pace. Nestled along Norway's west coast and surrounded by majestic mountains, Bergen is often called the Gateway to the Fjords.
We recommend starting your day in Bryggen, the historic Hanseatic quarter, where you can wander through charming alleyways lined with centuries-old wooden buildings. For panoramic views of the city and surrounding fjords, take the Fløibanen funicular railway to the top of Mount Fløyen—a must-see highlight of any visit to Bergen.
No trip to Bergen is complete without a visit to the lively fish market, where you can sample fresh local seafood. In the evening, consider dining at one of the many renowned seafood restaurants along the harbour, savouring the flavours of Norway's coastal cuisine.
Alternatively, join an optional food and culture walk of Bergen.
Day 7 - Norway’s Northern Lights Explorer - Bergen - Cruise joining day
After breakfast, enjoy some additional time in Bergen before making your way to the cruise terminal to board your Havila coastal voyage. Once on board, settle in and enjoy the start of your journey along the Norwegian coast as the ship departs this evening.

Day 8 - Norway’s Northern Lights Explorer - Havila - Bergen to Trondheim - Current
This morning, the ship cruises through the stunning Nordfjord near Torvik, offering breathtaking views of rugged landscapes. It then sails past the iconic West Cape, continuing toward the picturesque town of Ålesund, where you'll spend the afternoon exploring. Known for its remarkable Art Nouveau architecture, Ålesund is easily navigated on foot. Don't miss the opportunity to visit Mount Aksla for a spectacular panoramic view of the city and surrounding fjords.
Return to the ship for dinner as it continues its journey to Molde, the final port of the day. Here, you'll be treated to the Molde Panorama, an extraordinary view of 222 snow-capped mountain peaks across the fjord.

Day 9 - Norway’s Northern Lights Explorer - Havila - Bergen to Trondheim - Current
After breakfast, the ship arrives in Trondheim, Norway's first capital. You have the option to explore the city at your own pace or join a range of optional guided excursions. Founded in 997, Trondheim is home to the magnificent Nidaros Cathedral, a gothic masterpiece often referred to as "Norway's Notre Dame" and regarded as the country's most sacred building.
Following your exploration, be sure to visit the vibrant district of Bakklandet, where you can capture a beautiful photo of the colorful wooden wharves from Gamle Bybro, the historic old city bridge.
Return to the ship for the journey north, passing the scenic Kjeungskjær Lighthouse before continuing towards the charming village of Rørvik.

Day 10 - Norway’s Northern Lights Explorer - Havila - Bergen to Trondheim - Current
This morning marks a memorable moment as you cross into the Arctic Circle, where the chances of witnessing the awe-inspiring Northern Lights increase the further you journey within its boundaries. The crew onboard will celebrate this milestone with a special Arctic Circle ceremony, a refreshing experience to start your day.
After breakfast, the ship will dock at the port in Bodø for a guided city walk through Bodø's fascinating history.
Continue in the afternoon to the stunning Lofoten Archipelago. The Lofoten Islands offer some of the most dramatic landscapes in Norway, including the impressive Lofoten Wall, a towering 1,000-metre-high mountain formation.
Enjoy a brief stop in Stamsund before arriving in the evening at the picturesque harbor town of Svolvær, where you can take in the scenic surroundings.

Day 11 - Norway’s Northern Lights Explorer - Havila - Bergen to Trondheim - Current
For those up early, enjoy a peaceful morning stroll in Harstad, the first stop of the day. The ship then continues its journey via Finnsnes and the stunning island of Senja, before arriving in the Arctic capital, Tromsø. You'll have four hours to explore this vibrant city, home to local breweries, the Polaris Aquarium—the northernmost aquarium in the world—and other attractions. If time allows, cross the bridge to the Arctic Cathedral and make your way to the Fjellheisen cable car station. Take the cable car up to Storsteinen Mountain for breathtaking panoramic views of Tromsø and its surrounding landscapes. There are a range of excursions also available to book onboard (additional charge) including reindeer sledding & Sámi gamme visit.
In the evening, weather permitting, step outside to witness the magnificent Lyngen Alps as the ship sails through the striking Arctic region.

Today, we sail towards the northernmost point of Norway, arriving at Honningsvåg, the gateway to the North Cape, which marks the northernmost point of the European continent. Included in Honningsvåg is an excursion to the majestic North Cape Plateau. Norway's iconic northernmost point, offering breathtaking Arctic views.
As we continue our journey across northern Norway, you'll have the opportunity to observe local ways of life. Along the way, you may see cod drying on large wooden racks, known as hjell, a traditional method used in the fishing industry, which remains one of the region's key exports.

We have now reached the easternmost point of your voyage! The border with Russia is only a few kilometers away, and you may notice that road signs in Kirkenes are written in both Norwegian and Russian. Consider joining one of our excursions to visit the border, or venture to the Snowhotel, where everything is craftedfrom ice and snow for a unique and memorable experience.
The next port of call is Vardø, home to the historic Vardøhus Fortress, a star-shaped stronghold that has guarded Norway's northeastern frontier for centuries. As night falls, keep watch for the elusive Northern Lights, which frequently illuminate the Arctic skies during the winter months.
In the evening, arrive at the small port of Båtsfjord before continuing to Berlevåg. From the deck, you may catch a glimpse of Mount Tanahorn rising to the west or see the Kjølnes Lighthouse perched on a cliff, its beacon guiding ships through the Barents Sea. These remote ports are also home to Norway's most famous male choir, a group of local fishermen whose powerful voices echo the maritime traditions of the region.

As we continue south, the ship makes a late-night stop in Mehamn. Those seeking adventure can opt for an exhilarating snowmobile excursion through the vast Arctic wilderness (additional charge). Traverse snow-covered plains and valleys, breathe in the crisp winter air, and, if conditions allow, witness the Northern Lights illuminating the starry sky above.
During the day, the journey takes you through several coastal ports, including Honningsvåg and Hammerfest. In Hammerfest, visit the UNESCO-listed Meridian Column, erected in 1854 to commemorate the first precise geographic measurement of the globe—an essential milestone in mapping the Earth.
Continuing south, the ship arrives in Øksfjord, making a brief stop at the historic trading post of Skjervøy, a key maritime hub for centuries. Late in the evening, the voyage returns to Tromsø.

This morning, the ship arrives in Harstad, where you join one of the region's iconic excursions, A Taste of Vesterålen. This immersive tour showcases the region's rich history, stunning landscapes, and cultural heritage before rejoining the ship further south in Sortland.
Prepare for breathtaking scenery as the journey continues through the world-famous Lofoten and Vesterålen archipelagos. Known for their dramatic peaks, unspoiled wilderness, and charming fishing villages, these islands offer some of the most spectacular landscapes in Norway.
As the ship continues south, it appears to head directly into a towering mountain—only to reveal the hidden Raftsund, a narrow strait flanked by peaks rising over 1,000 meters from the sea. The journey then reaches the breathtaking Trollfjord, one of the most dramatic fjords in Norway.
In the evening, the ship arrives in Svolvær, the largest town in Lofoten, where you can explore at your leisure or take part in one of several optional excursions. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this picturesque fishing town, perhaps unwinding at a local café, pub, or restaurant.

Day 16 - Norway’s Northern Lights Explorer - Havila - Bergen to Trondheim - Current
As we continue south along the stunning Helgeland Coast, marvel at the unique Torghatten Mountain, standing 258 meters above sea level. Its most striking feature is the enormous hole running through its center—160 meters long, 35 meters high, and 20 meters wide—believed to have formed during the Ice Age.
Another highlight of the journey is sailing past the legendary Seven Sisters mountain range. According to folklore, these towering peaks were once seven beautiful troll sisters who, caught by the rising sun, were turned to stone, creating the breathtaking landscape seen today.
The voyage then makes a brief stop at the historic trading post of Nesna, before continuing to Sandnessjøen. Later in the day, we arrive in Brønnøysund, where you may choose to join an optional excursion to the Norwegian Aquaculture Centre. This insightful tour provides a closer look at Norway's thriving seafood industry, with an opportunity to sample freshly caught Norwegian salmon.
Although we have now crossed south of the Arctic Circle, the night sky may still offer a chance to witness the magical Northern Lights.

Day 17 - Norway’s Northern Lights Explorer - Trondheim - Cruise disembarkation day
Early this morning, disembark in Trondheim and make your way to your hotel. After leaving your luggage, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to explore this historic city. You may wish to walk through the old streets, spend time along the Nidelva River, or admire the exterior of Nidaros Cathedral, one of Northern Europe's great Gothic landmarks. Tonight is at your leisure.

As you arrive before the standard check-in time of 3 PM local time, you are welcome to leave your luggage with the hotel reception and explore the surroundings until your room is ready. Early check-in may be possible, but it is subject to availability and at the hotel's discretion.
Day 18 - Norway’s Northern Lights Explorer - VOS - Dovre Railway Trondheim to Oslo - Current
After breakfast, board the Dovre Railway for your scenic return to Oslo. This rail journey south passes through deep valleys, mountain terrain across Dovrefjell, farmland in Gudbrandsdalen and the shoreline of Lake Mjøsa. On arrival in Oslo, make your way to the hotel. The evening is at your leisure for a final dinner or walk through the city.

Day 19 - Scandinavian Winter Odyssey - Oslo to Reyjkavik - Current
Following breakfast, please proceed independently to the airport to board your included flight to Reykjavik. Upon arrival in the land of fire and ice, transportation will be provided to take you to your hotel.
Enjoy a leisurely stroll in the heart of this quaint town, positioned as the northernmost capital in the world. Feel free to enquire at the hotel reception about arranging a wake-up call for a glimpse of the mesmerising Northern Lights.

The departure transfer in Oslo is not included. You will receive a voucher with your final documentation for the FlyBus service to use upon arrival in Reykjavik to take you to your hotel.
Your included flight allows one checked bag up to 23kg (50 lbs), and one 7kg (15 lbs) carry-on, with options to increase your luggage allowance at the airport if needed. Your flight will be unescorted; however, your tour guide will assist you on either end to ensure that your journey is trouble-free.
Day 20 - VOS FIT Iceland - Reykjavik to Reykjavik - Current
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before embarking on the Golden Circle tour, a spectacular journey that highlights some of Iceland's most awe-inspiring natural wonders. Begin with a visit to the geothermal area of Geysir, home to the famous Strokkur geyser, which erupts every few minutes, sending water soaring up to 30 meters into the air.
Next, marvel at the majestic Gullfoss waterfall, cascading into a dramatic 62-meter-deep canyon, and learn about its fascinating history and cultural significance. Continue to the UNESCO-listed Þingvellir National Park, where you can witness the geological wonder of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, the point where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates meet.
After a day filled with exploration and discovery, return to Reykjavik to unwind.

After breakfast, you'll journey towards the captivating south shore of Iceland. Along the way, marvel at the stunning waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss, where cascading water creates mesmerising natural spectacles.
Continuing your adventure, you'll make your way to Vik, the southernmost village in Iceland. En route, you'll encounter Reynisfjara beach, renowned for its unique black sand and striking cliffs. Keep an eye out for the charming puffins, often spotted in this area—affectionately regarded as the unofficial national bird of Iceland.

After breakfast, you'll have some free time to relax and explore at your leisure. This afternoon, you'll be treated to a Comfort Entrance experience at the Blue Lagoon. This includes access to the soothing geothermal waters for bathing, a comfortable towel, a refreshing drink, and convenient transfers to and from the Blue Lagoon. Enjoy a day of relaxation and rejuvenation in this iconic Icelandic oasis.
The milky blue waters of the Blue Lagoon are naturally heated by underground geothermal activity, making it comfortably warm for bathing year-round, even during Iceland's cold winters. In addition to the natural beauty of the lagoon, the Blue Lagoon complex offers modern facilities, including changing rooms, showers, a sauna, a steam bath, a relaxation area, and a café where visitors can enjoy refreshments with views of the lagoon.
