Welcome to Algeria. On arrival in Algiers you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, take a self-guided walk past the Sacré-Cœur Cathedral, Audin Square, the Grande Poste, and Emir Abdelkader Square, finishing at Algiers' waterfront with views over the Mediterranean — or simply relax at your hotel. Special Information Arrival airport transfers are included as part of your package. You will be met upon arrival at the airport and transferred to your hotel. This morning after breakfast, set out to explore Algiers. Visit Bastion 23, also known as the Palais des Rais, then continue to the Basilica of Notre-Dame d'Afrique for views over the Bay of Algiers. Explore the Upper Casbah and the Citadel of Algiers, wandering its artisan shops, mosques and fountains. After lunch, continue to the Mustapha Pacha Palace, now the Museum of Calligraphy and Illumination, view the Ketchaoua Mosque from outside, and finish at Martyrs' Square.Enjoy the evening at leisure. After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Ghardaïa, a historic desert city in the M'zab Valley and part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After breakfast, discover the M'zab Valley and its ksour. Begin at El Atteuf, the oldest settlement in the region, then continue to Beni Isguen, a well-preserved fortified town that offers an insight into Mozabite culture. Enjoy lunch and explore the local market of Ghardaïa, known for its carpets, silver jewellery, dates and spices. This evening, transfer to the airport for your night flight back to Algiers, where you will spend the night. After breakfast, depart Algiers and travel to Djemila. On arrival, enjoy lunch at your own leisure before visiting the Djemila archaeological site and its museum, renowned for their remarkably preserved Roman ruins and mosaics. After breakfast, depart Constantine for Timgad, one of the best-preserved Roman cities in North Africa and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its grid layout, monumental arch, forum, temples and amphitheatre. Return to Constantine for a panoramic tour of the City of Bridges, known for its cliffs and suspended bridges. After breakfast we visit the World War I Monument, then walk through the Old Medina and cross the Sidi M'Cid Bridge for views over the Rhumel Gorge.
