Overview
From the heights of Cotopaxi volcano to the dense Amazon forest and the iconic Galapagos Islands, this 14-day adventure will take you through the unique landscapes of Ecuador. Starting in Quito, you’ll learn why this vibrant city is a UNESCO world heritage site and take a trip to the middle of the Earth with a visit to the equator. You’ll get close with the local Indigenous communities with community visits in Banos and the Amazon, while getting close to the animals that call this diverse country home. Tick the Galapagos off your list with a sailing voyage to the best of the Southern islands for close encounters with local wildlife like iguanas, giant tortoises and exotic birds. Go snorkelling near mighty manty rays and experience the rugged landscapes of this incredible part of the world.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1. A complimentary airport arrival transfer is included; valid if you are arriving on Day 1 or if you have booked pre-tour accommodation through us. You must provide your flight details to your booking agent at least 14 days prior to travel.
2. Due to the high altitude of the places we visit, some people can suffer from altitude sickness, regardless of age, gender, or fitness. It even happened to Sir Edmund Hillary! Please see the ‘Medical and Health Information’ section of the Essential Trip Information for more details.
3. This trip involves lots of active adventure, and we ask that you read through the itinerary carefully to ensure that it is right for you. You’ll need to feel comfortable with the included activities and with moving about the boat. The cabins and communal areas of the boat are spread over three decks, and the steps between the decks are steep.
4. A Zodiac boat (panga) is sometimes necessary to reach small islets, coves, and prime snorkelling spots. You must be comfortable climbing in and out of one during wet and dry landings.
5. The waters of the Galapagos are generally calm and serene. However, there is always the possibility of choppy water at sea. Steady sea legs (and a sturdy stomach) will be needed when walking around the boat during bad weather. Rain or shine, your trusty crew will always be on hand to assist you.
6. This is a combination trip made up of "Galapagos Encounter: Southern Islands" onboard the Grand Queen Beatriz boat which is a comfort style trip and the "Premium Ecuador" trip that is a Premium style trip.
