Cairo Pyramids Hotel

Today take a full day private guided tour of the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. The ‘Great’ pyramid itself is truly an astonishing work of engineering skill. For over 4,000 years it was the tallest building in the world. Continue to Memphis to see the colossal statue of Ramses II and the great alabaster Sphinx. Nearby at Sakkara view the oldest pyramid in the world, The Step Pyramid of Zoser I. (B)

Spent the morning at your leisure. We recommend a visit to the Grand Bazaar. Be picked up from your hotel after lunch for a private tour of The Egyptian Museum - one of the greatest museums of the World. Here you’ll see Tutankhamun’s treasures. Afterwards your tour guide will escort you to the train station where you will board an overnight sleeper train to Aswan. Dinner will be served on board. (B, D)  

Upon arrival in the early morning you will be met and transferred to your cruise vessel with embarkation before lunch. After lunch enjoy a felucca ride around the Botanical Gardens and Elephantine Island. From your vantage point on the felucca you will see Agha Khan Mausoleum, situated on the top of a hill, commanding a magnificent view of Aswan area. On the West Bank the desolate hillside is dotted with the Tombs of the Nobles. Blue Shadow Nile Cruise. (B, L, D) 

After breakfast visit the High Dam and Philae Temple dedicated to the goddess Isis. Continue with a leisurely sail to Kom Ombo where you will visit its temple located on the banks of the Nile. Sail to Edfu. (B, L, D) 

Breakfast on board. Visit the Temple of Horus which is considered by most to be the best preserved cult temple in Egypt. According to the Egyptian myths it was the place where the falcon-headed god Horus avenged the murder of his father Osiris by killing Seth. After lunch sail to Luxor. Your boat will cross Esna Lock on the way. (B, L, D) 

The morning tour of the West Bank will take you to visit the Valley of the Kings. From Thutmose I in the eighteenth Dynasty of the New Kingdom period all the kings, and occasionally high officials of that period, were buried in the secluded wadi, or dry gully, which today is called Valley of the Kings. Continue your tour with a visit to Queen Hatshepsut’s Temple and then admire giant statues called Colossi of Memnon. After lunch travel along the avenue of ramheaded sphinxes to Luxor and Karnak Temple - the main centre of worship in ancient Egypt. (B, L, D) 

Disembarkation after breakfast. Day at leisure in Luxor to explore this unique city. Afternoon transfer to the train station for the sleeper train to Cairo. Dinner will be served on board. (B, D)
