Upon arrival in Rome, make your own way to the hotel. Overnight at Diana Roof Garden, Trevi Collection Hotel, or a similar hotel. 

After breakfast, you will be driven to the meeting point of the local foodie tour. Enjoy a walking tour through local food markets, grocery stores and gelato shops in the areas of Campo De’ Fiori, Trastevere, and the Jewish Ghetto. Enjoy a slice of freshly baked crispy “Pizza Bianca” filled with thin slices of freshly cut “mortadella”, and try a “Supplì”, a deep-fried tomato sauce risotto ball with mozzarella cheese. Pasta will also be on the list, along with traditional Roman Jewish dishes like “Carciofo alla Giudìa”, (deep-fried artichoke) or fried zucchini flowers (depending on seasonality). Save space for dessert with artisan “Gelato”. Afterward, meet your driver to head to the Vatican area. Here meet a professional guide and take a tour of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Square. Admire the Gallery of Tapestries, Maps and Raphael’s rooms before arriving at the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo’s masterpiece. Admire St. Peter’s Basilica (outside). Rest of day at leisure. Overnight at Diana Roof Garden, Trevi Collection Hotel, or similar. (B)

Morning departure for a scenic transfer from Rome to Sorrento. Enjoy the stunning landscapes of the Italian countryside and breathtaking views along the Coast, where crystal-clear waters meet hills dotted with citrus groves and charming villages. Sorrento is also known as the jewel of the Amalfi Coast due to its vibrant streets, artisan ceramic workshops, and historic churches. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure. In the evening, dinner and overnight at Grand Hotel Vesuvio or similar. (B, D)

After breakfast transfer to port for ferry to Capri Island. Depending on weather conditions, upon arrival take a boat ride to the popular “Grotta Azzurra” (Blue Grotto), where sunlight passes into an underwater cavity and shines through the seawater, creating a magical blue reflection. Continue to the Giardini di Augusto (Gardens of Augustus), a beautifully landscaped terrace offering panoramic views of the iconic Faraglioni rock formations and the Marina Piccola Bay. Board a minibus for a scenic drive to Anacapri, 918 feet (280 meters) above the sea level. See wonderful views of the Bay of Naples. Free time for lunch (not included). Afterward, free time to explore Capri at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Grand Hotel Vesuvio or similar. (B, D)

Note: Capri excursion high Season only: 1 Apr-31 Oct. During peak season, visiting the Blue Grotto in Capri may involve long lines and limited capacity. If access is not possible, or the weather conditions do not allow it, our guides will suggest alternative attractions to ensure a satisfying and memorable tour (e.g. Faraglioni Rocks).  From Nov 1 Mar 31, the itinerary will be as follows: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Afterward, you’ll have free time for shopping or optional activities.

After breakfast, free time to soak in Sorrento’s charm one last time. Around 1pm begin the final leg of the journey. Head to Pompeii, for a walking tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site with a local guide. Discover the remarkably preserved ruins of this ancient Roman city, frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Skip-the line access, personal earphones, and a radio receiver and learn fascinating detail as guide brings history to life. Depart for Rome, filled with memories of an unforgettable Italian adventure. Overnight at Diana Roof Garden, Trevi Collection Hotel, or similar. (B)
